NVIDIA has released a new GeForce Game Ready driver, version 621.14, which is optimized for the imminent launch of World of Warcraft Forever, as well as tomorrow's debut of DLSS 5 in Hogwarts Legacy and next week's DLSS 5 integration in War Thunder.
World of Warcraft Forever, which opens its gates in just a few hours, does not include any DLSS technologies. However, it supports NVIDIA Reflex, which helps reduce latency in Blizzard's MMORPG, and the game is also playable on NVIDIA's new RTX Spark systems.
Forever comes with higher system requirements than the base game, owing to numerous graphics enhancements, including Global Illumination, Dynamic Bounce Lighting, True Volumetric Fog, Screen-Space Water Reflections, and more.
The new driver is also optimized for Hogwarts Legacy's DLSS 5 launch. The developers used NVIDIA's Neural Rendering model to improve specific visual elements while leaving character faces untouched. Jose Villeta, Director of Software Engineering at Avalanche Software, explained in a statement:
The team at Avalanche Software worked closely with NVIDIA to add DLSS 5 Neural Rendering technology into Hogwarts Legacy for PC to ensure the best visual results while maintaining our artistic intent. This allowed us to iterate and tune environments, tone and skin structural parameters in a manner that keeps the game true to the original vision. We’re excited for players to jump back into the game and experience it in a new way.
Last but not least, this GeForce Game Ready driver is already optimized for War Thunder's upcoming Eagle's Shadow update, which will add official DLSS 5 support to the game. Here, too, the focus is not on human characters, but on how NVIDIA's Neural Rendering can improve shadows, lighting, and reflections.
We'll soon have our own interview with Gaijin; stay tuned.
