What is RSS and how to follow site news with a news reader?

2 minute readOct 30, 2026

If you see a page full of XML code when clicking the RSS link, that is normal. Learn how to feed the feed address to a news reader and view the latest content in one place.

What Does RSS Do?

RSS is a standard format for publishing a list of the latest content. Instead of opening multiple sites every time, a feed reader application can receive their feeds and display the title, summary, date, and link of the articles side by side.

A news feed usually does not look like a regular website page. The AI Tech Feed feed file is created in RSS 2.0 format and based on XML; the feed reader app reads its structure and turns it into a browsable list for you.

Why Do I See Code in the Browser?

If you click on "RSS Feed" and see tags like rss, channel, item, and title, the browser is displaying the raw content of the file. The English message about the lack of styling information is not inherently a sign of a broken feed; it means no separate visual presentation has been defined for this file.

Of course, not every XML file is necessarily a healthy feed. If you see a parsing error message, a login page, or a server error, the issue is different. Normally, an RSS feed has a specific structure and a news reader can import it.

Adding AI Tech Feed to a News Reader

  1. Open an RSS-compatible news reader app or service.

  2. Find an option like "Add Source", "Follow", or "Add Feed". The name of this option depends on the app.

  3. Copy the address below completely and enter it in that section:

  1. Check the source title and the first few news items, and add it to your list.

  2. To read the full text, click on the news title to open the main page of the article. This site's feed publishes a summary and a link; the short text inside the news reader does not mean the news page text is short.

A Few Proper Expectations from a News Reader

The time it takes for an article to reach the app depends on the news reader's check interval and the site's publication time; not all news readers update in a single second. Also, feeds usually do not have an unlimited archive and keep a list of recent content. For older content, open the site archive.

If you just want casual reading, using RSS is not mandatory; the home page and news section show the exact same content with complete design. RSS is useful for following multiple sources and organizing your reading.

Practice and Troubleshooting

Add the feed and match one of the titles with the news page on the site. If the app rejects the address, first make sure https:// and /feed.xml are copied completely. If the feed opens but there is no new news, check the time of the last check and the "Unread" filter.
