Percy Jackson Season 3 Official Trailer Shows Off Star-Studded New Cast

With just a few weeks until season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres, Disney has released a stunning new trailer for the next chapter of the Rick Riordan adaptation. Season 3, which will cover the 2007 novel The Titan's Curse, looks to be the darkest entry in the show yet. While the new trailer sets up the stakes of the latest adventure for Percy and friends, it also signals that the end of the road isn't far off.

The trailer sets the stage for Percy's latest adventure, which will see him embarking on a journey to save Annabeth that puts him in conflict with the titan Atlus. He'll also butt heads with the demigod Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, and rescue the mysterious di Angelo twins. Fans of the books will recognize a number of iconic locations and plot beats in the trailer, such as the Hoover Dam. We know this will be the darkest season yet, and the creators are taking some liberties with how characters like Annabeth and Nico will act in the TV show. More interestingly, season 3 marks the turn toward the series' conclusion. As there are only five books, we are officially over the hump.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri will reprise their roles as Percy, Annabeth, and Grover respectively in season 3. The trailer gives us our best look yet at the season's massive cast, which includes several big names. Dafne Keen will star as Artemis, Ming-Na Wen as Hera, and Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite. We also see plenty of Bianca and Nico di Angelo in the trailer, played by Olive Abercrombie and Levi Chrisopulo. There is still no sign of Rachel Elizabeth Dare in the trailer, so fans may have to wait for the show's release to find out who will play the incredibly important character. Season 3 premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on Nov. 20.

Has Disney renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a fourth season?

Unfortunately, Disney has not officially greenlit a fourth season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians yet. That is a little alarming considering season 3 was officially confirmed months before season 2 was released. Disney has ordered an adaptation of Riordan's Kane Chronicles, so one would assume the company remains invested in finishing the Percy Jackson adaptation.

It would be a shame for Disney to cancel Percy Jackson at this point as the show is almost finished with the original five books. Fans have already lived through one failed adaptation, and they don't want to go through that again. The Titan's Curse also marks a drastic change in tone that continues to the series conclusion, and some of the best moments in the books are still ahead.
